About Us
Since 1973, the Green Party has been leading the way on action to tackle social inequality and the climate crisis – and at this pivotal moment, we’re gaining more momentum than ever before.
In the latest general election, the Green Party of England and Wales increased its representation in the House of Commons by 400 percent, bringing us to a total of four MPs for this parliamentary term.
Already, those representatives are proving their worth by holding the new Labour government to account for its misjudgements, such as by advocating for humane policies at home and calling for an end to barbaric violence overseas.
If you’d like to know more about the Green MPs, you can find Carla Denyer (Bristol Central), Adrian Ramsay (Waveney Valley), Siân Berry (Brighton Pavilion) and Ellie Chowns (North Herefordshire) on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
In addition to winning four seats, the Green Party also placed second in a number of areas, including two Haringey constituencies: Tottenham (against Labour’s David Lammy) and Hornsey and Friern Barnet (against Labour’s Catherine West).
This, combined with a strong result in the 2022 local elections, demonstrate the growth in awareness and support that the Green Party is nurturing in North London.
City residents are also represented by three London-wide members of the London Assembly, those being Green Party Deputy Leader Zack Polanski, former London Mayor candidate Zoë Garbett and Caroline Russell.
The Green Party is more widely represented in local authorities up and down the country, with more than 800 councillors in total (as of May 2024). In the House of Lords, Jenny Jones and Natalie Bennett are our voices for meaningful change.
At the time of writing, the top priority for Haringey Green Party is to give the borough its first Green councillors at the local elections scheduled for May 2026.
That might seem far off, but the work is happening right now, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’d like to help and please consider donating to the local party to help with our campaigning.
As part of the Green Party of England and Wales, we share a deep concern for social and environmental justice, which is clearly shown throughout our national policies. We believe fair is worth fighting for.
The Green Party relies on people power, rather than corporate finance, in all that we do – so your contribution really can make an enormous difference.
